Project GOLD MJ 88

Recommended Posts

Continue from my post in the pub:

I stripped most of the interior, removed the fender flares, drained old gas, and removed bad starter last night. I am working in my carport which I framed in and covered with tarps so I can stay warm for the winter.

Other than the small holes on the drivers side you can't see any rust from underneath. I'm hoping I can grind the rust down and still have enough metal there to use. If I have to I will buy new floor pans and take that route because there really isn't any more rust anywhere else.

My black MJ once stripped of all good parts is not worth restoring. There is no rockers or cab corners and the bed is shot. This truck is from Boston,MA and has seen a good share of salt. :ack:

I'm starting work on the 88 tomorrow again, get the motor ready to pull, grind down the floors and see whats left.
